The Katsina State Executive Council, under the Chairmanship of His Excellency, the Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, CON, on Wednesday, 14th January, 2026, held its 1st Regular Meeting of 2026 and approved the following key resolutions:

  1. Approval for the implementation of recommendations on Private Tertiary Institutions (PTIs) awarding NCE and Diploma certificates, aimed at enhancing the quality of tertiary education in the State.
  2. Approval for the procurement of starter packs for 1,169 graduating apprentices under the KASEDA/NATA Mechanic Apprenticeship Programme to promote skills acquisition, youth empowerment, and self-reliance.
  3. Ratification for the award of Contracts for the completion of outstanding facilities at Jikamshi and Dumurkul Model Schools, which were initiated under the AGILE Project.
  4. Ratification for the award of contracts for the procurement of 68 hand-pump boreholes and 68 tricycle ambulances for renovated Primary Health Care Centres across the 34 Local Government Areas of the State.
  5. Ratification for the award of contracts for the procurement of spare parts for tractors and operational vehicles under the State’s agricultural mechanisation scheme to ensure efficiency and durability of the equipment.
  6. The Council adopted the White Paper recommendations on the screening of staff of the 34 Local Government Councils, as part of ongoing public service reforms to improve accountability and service delivery.
  7. Approval was given for the digitalisation of procurementand contract award processes to enhance transparency, efficiency, and reduce manual and paper-based procedures.
  8. The Council approved the implementation of the Katsina State Green Public Procurement Executive Order, 2025, mandating environmental sustainability measures, including compulsory tree planting in all government road and building construction projects and in building permit applications.
  9. Finally, the Council approved the preparation of architectural designs, structural assessments, and Bills of Quantities for upgrading Dandume, Jibia, and Mashi Markets to modern standards, as well as the construction of a new modern market in Daura town.

These decisions reaffirm the commitment of the Katsina State Government to sustainable development, economic growth, and improved service delivery for the people of Katsina State.
