Yesterday, February 17th, 2026, the Katsina Tech and Innovation Ecosystem has presented the Second Edition of the Katsina Tech Ecosystem Report to His Excellency, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, Ph.D, CON, in recognition of the administration’s sustained commitment to strengthening the state’s digital economy, empowering startups, and creating opportunities for young innovators.
During the presentation, ecosystem stakeholders honoured the Governor with the title Chief Tech Enabler, acknowledging his government’s deliberate investments in digital infrastructure, innovation hubs, skills development programmes, and policies aimed at nurturing technology-driven entrepreneurship across Katsina State.
The newly released report provides a comprehensive overview of the growth of the state’s innovation landscape, highlighting emerging startups, talent pipelines, ecosystem partnerships, and the increasing role of technology in driving economic diversification and job creation.
In his remarks, Governor Radda expressed pride in the rapid progress being recorded within the ecosystem, particularly the emergence of young founders already building companies, solving local challenges, and creating employment opportunities. He noted that it is encouraging to see many young people under the age of 30 establishing viable businesses, addressing community problems, and contributing to economic development within the state.
The Governor also commended the leadership of Naufal Ahmad, Director-General of KATDICT, for driving the state’s digital transformation agenda and for the progress recorded in expanding digital access, supporting startups, and strengthening the technology talent pipeline.
Governor Radda reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to deepening support for the ecosystem through increased funding, expanded innovation programmes, and the development of structured pathways that connect digital skills acquisition to employment and enterprise growth for Katsina’s youth. He emphasized that technology remains central to the administration’s broader development strategy for inclusive growth, economic diversification, and long-term prosperity.
Stakeholders at the event observed that the recognition reflects a growing alignment between government policy and grassroots innovation, positioning Katsina as an emerging technology hub in Northern Nigeria.
