The Katsina State Government has called on residents across the state’s 361 wards to take part in the 2027 Budget Town Hall Meeting scheduled for Saturday, July 18, 2026, as part of efforts to prepare a budget that reflects the needs and aspirations of the people.
The exercise, organised by the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning in collaboration with Community Development Programme is themed “Building Your Future IV” and is aimed at giving citizens the opportunity to contribute ideas, identify priority projects and make recommendations for the 2027 budget.
Hon. Malik Anas, Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, said the town hall meetings would host all the 361 wards across the state.
According to the Commissioner, the initiative is in line with Governor Dikko Umaru Radda’s commitment to inclusive governance and ensuring that citizens have a direct voice in how public resources are planned and allocated.
He urged residents, community leaders, women, youths, traditional rulers, civil society organisations and other stakeholders to attend the meetings and make meaningful contributions that would help shape the state’s development agenda.
It noted that the views and recommendations gathered during the exercise would play a key role in preparing a people-focused budget that addresses the real needs of communities across Katsina State.
The government recalled that a similar exercise was successfully held ahead of the 2026 budget in the three senatorial zones of Katsina, Daura and Funtua, where Governor Radda personally attended and presided over the town hall meetings.
According to Commissioner Anas, the expansion of the exercise to all 361 wards demonstrates the administration’s determination to deepen grassroots participation in governance and ensure that every community has the opportunity to influence government policies and development programmes.
He encouraged to turn out in large numbers and actively participate in the exercise, describing the town hall meetings as another important step towards building a stronger, more prosperous and inclusive Katsina State.
