- Commissions Dikko Gida Gida Movement Office
Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, community mobilisation, and grassroots development across the state.
The Governor made the remarks today during a courtesy visit by members of the Dikko Gida Gida Movement at the Government House, Katsina, and later at the commissioning of the movement’s office, where he accepted the honorary position of Grand Patron.
Governor Radda commended the organisation for its support to communities and its efforts at strengthening grassroots engagement, noting that the government is aware of its activities across the state.
“We appreciate the commitment and support this organisation continues to give to our people. We have been following its activities and maintaining close contact with its leadership to monitor its programmes,” the Governor said.
He described the movement as a relationship-driven initiative focused on service, unity, and community development, stressing that governance requires humility, patience, and sincerity.
“In governance, challenges are part of the system. Whenever mistakes occur, we must have the humility to apologise and correct them. Leadership must be guided by integrity and a sense of responsibility to the people,” he stated.
Governor Radda thanked the organisation for its support and formally accepted the honorary title of Grand Patron, urging members to remain patient, committed, and focused on service.
During the visit, the Dikko Gida Gida Movement conferred honorary patron titles on the Deputy Governor, Malam Faruk Lawal; the Chief of Staff, Hon. Abdulkadir Maman Nasir; and the Principal Private Secretary, Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji. The movement also presented its three zonal coordinators and introduced its leadership structure covering all 34 local government areas of the state.
Earlier, the Director-General of the movement, Hon. Kabir Shuaibu Charanchi, a former member representing Rimi–Charanchi–Batagarawa Federal Constituency, said the delegation was at the Government House to formally introduce its leadership and outline its objectives.
He explained that the movement was established to strengthen community coordination, address grassroots challenges, and support development initiatives across the state.
“Our members serve as ambassadors in different sectors, working to resolve community issues and support development efforts,” he said.
He disclosed that the organisation had already empowered no fewer than 3,610 community members through small business support initiatives and plans to provide vehicles to its coordinators across the 34 local government areas to enhance their operations.
At the commissioning of the office, Governor Radda described the project as a significant initiative that would strengthen grassroots mobilisation and support the administration’s development agenda.
“I commend this effort. It shows commitment to the people and to the development of the state. Politics requires patience, sincerity, and the willingness to serve,” the Governor added.
In his welcome address, the Director-General said the office would serve as a coordination centre for mobilisation, unity among supporters, and the promotion of programmes in line with the administration’s policies.
Also speaking, the Deputy State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bala Abu Musawa, commended the Director-General for providing an office facility for the party and urged members to continue supporting the government and the party’s programmes.
The event was attended by the Deputy Governor, Malam Faruk Lawal; the Chief of Staff, Hon. Abdulkadir Maman Nasir; the Principal Private Secretary, Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji; and members of the Katsina State Executive Council.
