* Lenovo Commits Support Following Strong Delegates’ Performance

Katsina State continues to record steady progress in inclusive development and international engagement, with two students proudly presented at the Football For All Leadership Programme Africa 2026 held in Rabat, Morocco.

The programme, which ran from 10th to 16th May 2026, brought together young leaders and changemakers across Africa to advance leadership, inclusion, sports development, and opportunities for Persons With Special Needs through innovative community-driven approaches.

According to organisers, the initiative “serves as a platform for nurturing inclusive leadership and empowering young people to use sports as a tool for social transformation across communities in Africa.”

The Katsina State delegation comprised main participants, support persons, and a state coordinator who represented the state at the international programme.

The two main participants were Nasir Dauda and Rufa’i Yau Zakka, supported by Hassana Mukhtar and Amina Babangida Jigama, while Aminatu Sulaiman Karofi served as State Coordinator.

The participation was achieved through a collaborative effort between the Katsina State Government, the Football For All initiative, and Ideas and Data Global Academy, who jointly co-funded the programme and provided technical guidance and mentorship throughout the selection and implementation process.

The engagement is described as a strategic investment in social inclusion, youth empowerment, and community transformation, rather than mere international exposure.

The beneficiaries are expected to lead step-down engagements across Katsina State focused on inclusive leadership training, sports for social integration, and community-based support for persons with special needs.

They will also drive youth participation and volunteerism, while strengthening local systems that promote dignity, accessibility, and equal opportunity for all.

In addition, Lenovo has reportedly expressed interest in supporting the localisation of the initiative in Katsina State following strong presentations made by the state delegates during the programme.

Katsina State reaffirmed its commitment to building an inclusive society where no one is left behind, while appreciating all partners and facilitators who contributed to the success of the programme.
